Full Professor of Structure of Matter, University of Florence

Francesco Saverio Cataliotti is Full Professor of Structure of Matter at the University of Florence, with research interests in atomic physics and quantum optics. He is a member of the Research Council of EURAMET and represents the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy on the INFN Governing Board. Former Director of the CNR National Institute of Optics (2021–2025), he coordinates major national and European initiatives in quantum technologies, including projects MUR-FISA QuRe on the development of Quantum Repeaters and QCIMED on Quantum Key Distribution between EU-Member States.
