Michele Benini

Head of the Energy Systems Development Department, RSE

Michele Benini is Director of RSE's Energy Systems Development Department and has 37 years of experience in the energy sector research. Throughout his career, he has held positions of responsibility at CISE, ENEL, CESI, and ERSE. He has also served as a Contract Professor at Politecnico di Milano. His areas of expertise include the application of artificial intelligence to power systems, the liberalization and regulation of electricity markets, and the long-term planning of energy systems, providing support to national and local policymakers as well as to the Italian energy regulator, ARERA.
