Alan Baratz

Dr. Baratz has been CEO of D-Wave Quantum since 2020, previously serving as EVP of R&D and Chief Product Officer, leading product development and delivery. With 25+ years in tech, he has driven innovation at major companies and startups. As the first president of JavaSoft at Sun Microsystems, he helped scale Java to widespread enterprise use. He has held executive roles at Symphony, Avaya, Cisco, IBM, and led several companies as CEO. He holds a PhD in computer science from MIT.
