Antonietta Mira - Economics

Founder of the Data Science Lab at USI, Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, Fellow of the International S. for Bayesian Analysis, National Popular Science Prize

A. Mira is Professor of Statistics at Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano), Insubria University (Como), and elected member of the Swiss National Science Foundation Research Council.
She is a Fellow of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, the Lombardy Academy of Science, and elected member of the International Statistical Institute.
She serves on the board of the Harvard Data Science Review, the Swiss Statistical Society, and was member of the Swiss Federal Statistics Committee. Her main research interests are statistical models for complex data, uncertainty quantification, and efficient Monte Carlo simulation algorithms with applications to health and social science, economics and finance.
Her research leadership is demonstrated by visiting fellowships at prestigious universities such as Harvard, Cambridge, and QUT (Brisbane), advisory board memberships, papers published in leading journals, keynote invitations at world conferences, editorial board memberships of major journals, and leading roles in scientific committees of international conferences.
