Scientific Director, ASviS, Rome

Full Professor of Economic Statistics and Sustainable Development at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He served as Minister for Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility in the Draghi government and as Minister for Labour and Social Policies in the Letta government. He is co-founder and Scientific Director of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS). He served as Chief Statistician of the OECD and President of ISTAT. In October 2014, he was appointed “Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic”. He is the author of over 140 articles published in national and international journals and of eight books on statistical and economic topics.
