Guglielmo Mazzola

Associate Professor, SISSA, Trieste

He earned a Ph.D. in Theory and Simulation of Condensed Matter at SISSA (Trieste). He has 11 years of experience working abroad at ETH Zurich, IBM Quantum, and the University of Zurich, focusing on quantum algorithms—both in fundamental research and in the development of applications in fields such as chemistry, optimization, and finance. He is the author of publications in prestigious international scientific journals and of patents in the field of quantum computing. He has taught the Quantum Algorithms course in Zurich and currently teaches it at SISSA, where he has been an associate professor since 2025.
