Michele Benini

Head of the Energy Systems Development Department, RSE, Milan

Michele Benini is Director of the ‘Energy Systems Development’ Department at RSE and has over 35 years’ experience in research within the sector, having held senior positions at CISE, ENEL, CESI and ERSE, as well as having been an adjunct professor at the Politecnico di Milano. His work has focused on the application of artificial intelligence to electrical systems, the liberalisation and regulation of electricity markets, and the long-term planning of energy systems, in support of central and local policy-makers and the sector regulator ARERA.
