Piero Martin

Full Professor of Physics, University of Padua

Piero Martin is a full professor of physics at the University of Padua, seconded to the ‘B. Segre’ Centre of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. He was an adjunct professor at Columbia University in New York. He studies fusion as a source of energy. A Fellow of the American Physical Society, he coordinates the physics activities of DTT, the new large-scale fusion experiment. He is a presenter on Radio 3, where he hosted the series ‘Le parole della fisica’, the live programme ‘Le parole della fisica’ with Ivan Talarico, and several episodes of ‘Sophia! La libera enciclopedia di Radio3’. He writes for ‘Domani’ and ‘La Stampa’. He is the author of The 7 Measures of the World, Stories of Memorable Mistakes and That’s It for Laterza.
