Umberto Piarulli - Chemistry

Full Professor of Organic Chemistry, Insubria University

Umberto Piarulli is Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at Insubria University, where, after heading the Department of Science and High Technology (2017-2023), he is currently acting as vice-Rector. Prof Piarulli co-authored more than 120 papers in refereed scientific journals (h-index 38), supervised more than 25 PhD students and leaded several nationally and internationally funded projects (among which 3 MSCA ITN). His scientific interests include stereoselective synthetic and catalytic methodologies, molecular recognition, the study of conformationally structured peptides and peptidomimetics, and more recently of peptide- and antibody-drug conjugates as tumor-targeting drugs.
