Umberto Piarulli

Associate Vice Rector, University of Insubria

Umberto Piarulli is a Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Insubria, where, after serving as Head of the Department of Science and Advanced Technology (2017–2023), he currently holds the position of Vice Rector. Prof. Piarulli is co-author of over 120 articles in scientific journals (h-index 38) and has coordinated numerous nationally and internationally funded projects. His scientific interests include stereoselective synthetic and catalytic methodologies, molecular recognition, the study of conformationally structured peptides and peptidomimetics, and, more recently, peptide-drug and antibody-drug conjugates for targeted anticancer therapies.
